Children and adults alike agree that this quote from Ofsted describes us very well: “This is a happy school where pupils from many different cultures and backgrounds work and play together in harmony. They are keen to work hard, and enjoy sharing and listening to each other’s ideas.”
Columbia School is a two-form entry community primary school in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. We admit children from ages 3 to 11 and are proud to be part of the LETTA Trust, a family of five primary schools. We work hard to ensure our pupils make the most of our amazing location and the opportunities it offers.
Our intake is wonderfully diverse, reflecting the multi-ethnic community we serve. Many of our children have English as an additional language, which provides a rich context for our ethos of inclusion. At Columbia, we place a strong emphasis on respect for every individual and ensuring all children are actively engaged in their learning.
Our school vision, which was written by staff, children and parents, is central to everything we do at Columbia. We hope it also resonates with you: We are active learners who work well with each other, understand our feelings and enjoy challenging ourselves. We are ready to thrive, contribute and be responsible for our world. We are kind to each other and love that we are all different.
I warmly invite you to explore our school and see all that we have to offer.
